That holidays do not last only through the summer is also confirmed by the campaign of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Croatian National Tourist Board called “Croatian Tourism Month”, which brings plenty of benefits for enjoying holidays, trips and weekend getaways in October.

From the “Croatian Tourism Week” three years ago, when the campaign was first launched, to a whole month: between 1 and 31 October 2022 you will be able to enjoy post-season seaside and inland tourism with many benefits which, we should point out, are not as readily available during the season. One of them is exceptionally favourable prices for accommodation, food and other tourist services.
That is why Camping Plitvice has also prepared benefits for you that you won’t want to miss in October, but which include more than the Croatian Tourism Month. Although our country is beautiful at any time of year, nature is especially lovely in autumn and winter in Lika, particularly in the Plitvice region. So book now for a holiday at a campsite immersed in nature itself.
Croatian Tourism Month at Camping Plitvice
Is there a better opportunity to visit a region that lies at the meeting point of as many as three climates (continental, mountain and Mediterranean) and in a strategic position than in a month of great benefits?
Throughout October, accommodation prices at Camping Plitvice are 40% lower. As family week started at the beginning of the month, meal prices in our restaurant are also lower, and they remain valid until the end of the month. In addition, all members of the LOYALTY PROGRAMME are entitled to additional benefits.
Located in the village of Smoljanac, Camping Plitvice is only 500 metres from the main road (D1) yet immersed deep in nature, so here you will hear only birdsong and the pulse of nature, without the noise of the city and the roads. Popular weekend getaways, day trips or microcations (frequent but shorter holidays, usually fewer than five nights) are ideal for getting to know and experiencing the inland Lika region. Jaunt is another term for this kind of holiday, meaning “a short journey for pleasure” or an excursion. It is believed that it may come from Old French; it appeared as early as the 17th century and was used to describe a journey on horseback long enough to tire the horse.
Besides being a more budget-friendly way to travel, this kind of holiday lets us get away from the office, the house and everyday life in general for a few days without disrupting the rhythm of our lives. They bring that carefree holiday feeling, so they are also good for mental health – experts say.
Many tourism service providers also take part in the “Croatian Tourism Month”, so you will also be able to enjoy lower prices from some transport operators, on tickets to cultural, historical and natural sights, at various tourist attractions and more.

Plitvice Lakes National Park
Although the best-known park in Croatia offered discounted tickets until 9 October, after that period, more precisely from 10 to 31 October, you can still enjoy the lower post-season ticket price of HRK 180.
Velebit Nature Park and Cerovečke špilje
Somewhat further afield from Camping Plitvice, about 70 kilometres away, from 17 to 23 October you can enjoy lower ticket prices (35% off) for Velebit Nature Park and Cerovečke špilje.
Aquatika – Karlovac freshwater aquarium
The freshwater aquarium in Karlovac offers 50% off all types of individual tickets from 22 to 30 October 2022.
Quad adventure
The travel agency “Rastoke active”, only about 30 kilometres from our campsite, organises quad adventures in the Rastoke and Slunj area, on off-road and forest trails accompanied by a guide, and with
with lunch included.
Group events at Camping Plitvice during the winter period
Although Camping Plitvice will not be open to individual visits during the winter period, we remain open to all group visits and events. You will find all the advantages for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) tourism in our DELUXE mobile homes with accommodation for up to 68 participants, a congress hall with 45 seats, our own restaurant seating 160 with a spacious covered terrace, an outdoor amphitheatre (120 seats), Wi-Fi coverage across the entire resort, good transport links and other advantages particularly suited to organising Team Building events.
