- ADVENT IN NATURE FOR A CROWD-FREE FESTIVE SEASON
If you associate Advent only with city crowds, it is time to discover its different, more natural side. This year, in cooperation with the tourist board, Camping Plitvice is organising Advent in Smoljanac (28 December) – a one-day event with free admission that brings together the festive atmosphere and the nature of Lika. Visitors can look forward to a programme for children and adults, a visit from Father Christmas, a concert, fritule and mulled wine – all in a relaxed, warm atmosphere without the rush.
The programme includes:
- a concert by Antonio Krištofić & Band (18:00 – 21:00)
- the arrival of Father Christmas and presents for the children (18:00 – 19:00)
- a children’s film screening (19:00 – 21:00)
- fragrant mulled wine and fresh fritule
Everything takes place in a warm, festive atmosphere, away from the bustle of the city – ideal for families, couples or a day trip into nature. Over the festive period, from 26 December to 7 January, the Camping Plitvice Restaurant rounds off the experience with a special winter menu inspired by traditional home cooking – “Stara kuhinja” beef goulash, pork knuckle with braised cabbage and potatoes, and oven-baked sarma. Advent at Camping Plitvice is an ideal day trip, but also the perfect excuse for a long weekend in the peace and quiet of the Plitvice region.
- WINTER PACKAGES IN WHICH YOU ALWAYS GET MORE
For those who want to stay longer and experience winter to the full, Camping Plitvice offers winter packages available until 1 March 2026. With accommodation discounts of up to 40%, the packages include two nights with breakfast and a variety of experiences – from active to relaxing.
There are five different winter packages on offer – from horse riding through nature and off-road adventures to the underground world of Plitvice, gastronomy workshops and encounters with deer. The special Winter Escape package, available until 31 January, also includes tickets for Plitvice Lakes National Park, making it the ideal choice for a winter escape into nature with no extra planning.
Accommodation in heated mobile homes, some with underfloor heating, ensures maximum comfort even on the coldest days, while the nature around you offers what matters most – peace, quiet and room for a real rest.

In December, Camping Plitvice hosted the festive press event “In the Embrace of Nature”, conceived as an authentic portrayal of a winter stay in the Plitvice region. The programme brought together media representatives – Lider Media, Tportal, Index.hr, Vogue Adria, Salud – and PR professionals from 4AM agency, with the focus on experiences available to guests all winter long.
The press event began with arrival and a breakfast with local flavours, followed by a guided tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park, in its winter garb. Snowy waterfalls, the silence of nature and a slower pace showed why Plitvice is just as magical outside the main season.
A special highlight of the press event was an authentic cooking class in Rastovača, held in cooperation with Traditional Plitvice Lakes Cooking Class. The cooking was done exclusively over an open fire and under the peka, without the use of electricity, which further underlined the authentic character of the whole experience – with home-made bread, traditional fritters, veal with vegetables and polenta being prepared, along with a tasting of Lika basa, cheeses and home-made walnut roll. Simple flavours, a slow rhythm and time together around the fire created a truly authentic atmosphere that connects people, the region and tradition.
The stay ended with a restorative yoga and breathing session led by Hana Dervović, a long-standing collaborator of Camping Plitvice, known for retreats that combine movement, nature and mindful rest.
The press event was also supported by the luxury transport partner Permansio Croatia. The press event confirmed once again what Camping Plitvice lives all year round – a stay that adapts to the guest, their rhythm and their interests.
WINTER AS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL START TO THE NEW YEAR
The festive season at Camping Plitvice does not end with Advent. It is the prelude to the whole winter season – a time for slowing down, regeneration and time in nature.
