Camping Plitvice, located in the heart of Lika, is the perfect choice for all of this, as it lies in an area that brings together beautiful streams, forests and meadows, mountain landscapes and magical caves like those in the loveliest fairy tales written by Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, who was born in Ogulin. These beautiful green landscapes, rising just ten or so kilometres from the sea in the hinterland, are home to many, even endangered and rare, species of birds, wolves, bears and endemic species such as Degenia velebitica.
So, just a few minutes’ drive from our campsite, you can take a guided tour of the mysterious underground world of Baraćeve špilje, with prehistoric stalactites and stalagmites that are constantly changing shape, while the cave itself, about 150 metres long (that is only the part open to visitors), always has the same temperature of 9 degrees, summer and winter – or visit the magical Plitvice Lakes National Park, which in every season readily serves up a completely new and beautiful backdrop. The best thing of all is that you can visit these natural museums even if you are greeted by less sunny or even rainy days.
Just 5 kilometres from the campsite you will also find Drežnik (the Old Town) and the Mlinica old mill, which, although abandoned, reveal their beauty and sights worth visiting, while the abandoned Željava underground military airbase about 20 kilometres away holds the spirit of history and mystery and attracts many curious visitors.
The search for a break from everyday worries, for recharging, prevention and health ends right here in this region. Despite being only a couple of hundred metres from the main D1 road, peace and quiet are among the many advantages of our Camping Plitvice, especially in autumn, while at the same time you can also enjoy many other autumn benefits:

–CHEAPER TICKETS TO NATURE’S MUSEUMS: until 1 October, a visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park costs €40 until 16:00 and €26.50 after that, and from 1 October it is €10. For groups, the price is much lower. A ticket to Baraćeve špilje costs €13.50 in September and €11 in October.
