After the summer season, our Camping Plitvice restaurant is taking a short winter break and closing temporarily until next spring. But that doesn’t mean we’ll be hibernating – on the contrary, we are full of ideas and inspiration (after all, we are surrounded by nature, which enchants us with the beauty of every season), and we’ll keep in touch with you, online at least.

So here are three suggestions for making your favourite drink even more “cosy” on these colder days.
Nothing warms body and soul better than hot drinks such as tea, cocoa (or hot chocolate) or coffee, in versions that make real comfort drinks with magical ingredients.
And we warmly invite you to visit us in winter too, because our Premium and Deluxe mobile homes with a 5-star feel are open all year. Feel free to bring one of your favourite drinks… and once you have settled in with us, we suggest you head out towards the reds, yellows, greens and all the other bright colours nature has dressed itself in… and enjoy everything this time of year brings to the senses.
Truly cosy!
The three warm “cosy” autumn drinks are:
1. A slightly different version of your favourite coffee, combined with the queen of autumn (pumpkin and nutmeg)
Once you have made your favourite (instant) coffee, add 4 tablespoons of purée made from pre-cooked pumpkin, a pinch of nutmeg, cream (optional) and a natural sweetener (agave syrup or xylitol). If you want to explore an even richer range of flavours, add one tablespoon of coconut butter or full-fat (coconut) milk. The result is an excellent drink that fully energises you and wakes you up.
Coffee is rich in antioxidants and in small amounts is good for your health. It boosts circulation and brain activity and stimulates the muscles. It also acts as a mild antidepressant, because it promotes the release of happiness hormones and lifts your mood. Pumpkin gives this drink a creamy texture and also makes it a good prebiotic, rich in fibre.
Nutmeg adds sweetness with healing properties, wakes you up and even eases muscle and bone pain.
2. Hot tea boosted with spices for your immunity (cloves, cinnamon, anise, cardamom, lemon and ginger)
Add spices to your favourite fruit tea and boost your immunity. Tea is a natural source of flavones, which activate antioxidants in the body. And the spices in this drink also help to strengthen the immune system.
Cloves, cinnamon and anise have excellent antimicrobial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, cardamom and lemon are an excellent source of vitamin C, electrolytes and iron, and ginger is good for the metabolism.
3. Spiced hot chocolate (cinnamon, vanilla and chilli)
To warm milk add cream (optional), 4 teaspoons of organic cocoa, squares of 200 g dark chocolate, a natural sweetener (agave syrup or xylitol) and spices that will turn this hot drink into a real hedonistic pleasure – in aroma and in taste. You can add spices such as cinnamon, vanilla and chilli in whatever amounts you like (we recommend a pinch of each), depending on how intense (spicy) you want the flavour to be. Extra tip: while the milk is coming to the boil, you can also drop a vanilla pod into it and take it out after 5–10 minutes. Top with whipped cream if you like.
Organic cocoa will give your body three times more oxidants than green tea and nourish it with minerals. Ideal for colder autumn and winter days.
Enjoy, and let us know what you think.
